Guitar riffs are the components of music played on guitar at the beginning of songs. The most favored are those played just by rock bands. A famous riff is actually one that plays at the beginning of the song One Step Closer by Linkin Recreation area. The riffs from different songs are typically compiled into a single track. Popular bands from where riffs are taken are generally Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Guns n Roses and musicians including Jimi Hendrix. The reason riffs are generally so popular is because they are relatively small pieces out of them all popular songs and are less of a challenge to play than the rest of the track.
