It’s been one of those days—you know, the hard long kind. You stagger to the front door, turn the key in the lock, kick the door open, drop your bag on the ground, heave the door shut, and allow a sigh of relief. You just got through yet another 24 hours in the jungle!

Of course, because you’re so strapping, healthy and just oozing with after-5 steam that you can barely contain your keenness, you jump into your tracksuit, fish your sneakers out from under the couch and head out for a brisk 5 mile run, despite the 35 degree heat, in all likelihood singing on your way.

Every child enjoys music whether they are just listening to it, dancing to it or perhaps singing along to it. As they get a little older many of those young people begin to find an interest in actually making their own music and will start searching around for an instrument to play.

Traditionally schools would help children to take up instruments such as the triangle, the tambourine or the recorder. Many of us will remember having to play these simple instruments in our own childhood days.
