London’s better gig venues

Friday, March 13th, 2009

A list of some of the London event venues in London, which are mainly used for music.

  • Hammersmith Apollo -Known also as the Hammersmith Odeon, depending on your age. Hammersmith has housed some big named bands -Iron Maiden played here in the 1980s and Motorhead still do. Hammersmiths floor is sloped from the middle to the back, which allows you to see wherever you stand, and the barriers in the middle and the drop in the floor are great for separating the mosh pitters and people who just want the band. A solid venue.

Why I Love The New Season of American Idol

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

To be completely honest I'm one of those people who has a really hard time getting into Idol. I remember when it first started and I was so surprised by the show thinking that it would be a flop. When the second season rolled around I realized I couldn't be more wrong. The show continues to not only survive but thrive, and shows following the same model come out like Americas Got Talent. I lament the good old days of shows like Saved By The Bell.
